Scoliosis Evaluation
Schroth Method Scoliosis Treatment
The recommended treatment protocol is either 1 hour sessions 1x/week for 6-12 weeks or a 6-12 hour intensive in order to facilitate optimal neuromuscular re-education of spinal muscles. At the beginning of the treatment, several treatments are required (usually 6 sessions close together), so that the therapist can help facilitate this neuromuscular re-education of spinal muscles while the patient is learning how to make postural corrections independently. Once the patient is able to perform posture corrections independently, they can continue with the practice at home and return as needed to adjust the treatment/refine technique (usually a 3 or 6 month follow-up). As each individual is unique, the treatment plan will vary and depend on the severity of the curve and on the capacity of the individual's neuromuscular system to learn and integrate the new use of muscles in daily postures and activities. Most individuals require 6-12 hours of training to become independent with an effective curve correction program. INTENSIVE PROGRAM SCHEDULE INITIAL TRAINING 6 HOUR WEEKEND INTENSIVE + TELEHEALTH REVIEW AFTER 2 WEEKS OF HOME PRACTICE (OPTIONAL) + FOLLOW UP TRAINING (4-6 WEEKS AFTER INITIAL SESSIONS) 2-4 HOUR REVIEW AND PROGRESSON TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL CORRECTION Fees Scoliosis Solutions is a fee-for-service practice. We do not submit claims to most insurance companies, but for most insurances we can provide you with a superbill to submit for reimbursement. EXCEPTIONS: We ARE contracted with (in-network) Blue Cross of Idaho, TriCare, most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and MEDICARE. The reason for this decision is that most insurance companies like to dictate the type of treatment and the frequency of treatment. You deserve the treatment that your body needs, not the treatment that your insurance company will pay for. Insurance companies are constantly changing regulations for providers and we would rather spend that time treating you, studying anatomy, attending classes, and truly honing our skill set so you can get better faster.
